Occupation: Manager of Prevention Programs Ernest Walker began his HIV work in 1998 in Seattle, Washington at P.O.C.A.A.N. (People of Color Against AIDS Network) as a program coordinator for their black MSM program. From there Mr. Walker moved to Los Angeles in 2000 to work for MAP (Minority AIDS Project) where he served as their Preventive Case Manager then as the program manager for their black MSM programs. In 2003 Mr. Walker moved to DC and became the program coordinator of outreach services and now currently the Manager of Prevention Programs. Mr. Walker has served as an alternate on the local HIV Prevention Community Planning Group. He is a graduate of the 2007 CDC /ASPH Institute for HIV Prevention Leadership. Mr. Walker is dedicated in supporting those individuals who are HIV positive to ensure that they are getting the best possible services needed and those who are negative by providing education and support services so that they won’t acquire HIV. |
