About Us
Did You Know...
Us Us Helping Us, People Into Living, Inc., received a $74,439 capacity-building grant from Kaiser Permanente of the Mid-Atlantic to implement a strategic plan to incorporate social media into its programs and service delivery. Dr. E. W. Emanuel, the Associate Medical Director of the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group, announced the grant during his remarks at Us Helping Us' annual Autumn Reception. The one-year grant will be used to: a) link men to HIV prevention programs; b) engage HIV-infected men in care services and support their adherence to treatment; and c) create new channels to interact with the social networks of Black gay and same-gender-loving men.
"Us Helping Us is truly fortunate to begin the new year with a grant from Kaiser Permanente to incorporate social media into our programs and services," says Ron Simmons, Ph.D., the President/CEO of Us Helping Us. "The incorporation of social media will enhance our programming for young people and equip our service delivery for the 21st century."
